Tony-winning director Kenny Leon will helm a new Broadway revival of Thornton Wilder's Our Town in fall 2024. The revival will be the first Broadway production of the classic play since 2002. Dates, casting, and a theatre are all to be announced.
Joining Leon on the creative team will be scenic designer Beowulf Boritt, costume designer Dede Ayite, lighting designer Allen Lee Hughes, sound designer Justin Ellington, and dialect coach Kate Wilson.
"Thornton Wilder’s Our Town in my mind stands at the top of the Mount Rushmore of great American Theatre,” says Leon in a statement. “I feel blessed and fortunate to have gained the trust of The Wilder estate to present this classic to another generation of theatre lovers. It’s long been a burning desire to collaborate on a Broadway production of such magnitude that speaks so beautifully and intimately to all people about our shared time on the planet.”

The 1938 play centers on life in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, between 1901 and 1931. The work has become one of the most beloved in the repertoire, and one of the most frequently produced. It won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama the year it premiered, and has been revived on Broadway in 1944, 1969, 1989, and 2003.
Producing the upcoming revival are Jeffrey Richards, Hunter Arnold, Craig Balsam, Irene Gandy, Rebecca Gold, Louise Gund, Willette & Manny Klausner, M/B/P Productions, Daryl Roth, and Jayne Baron Sherman.
